I have called the Eastern Bay home for over 50 years now, with our boys being raised here. The Bay certainly has plenty, from a great climate and lifestyle to a friendly community, gorgeous beaches, bush walks, and more. A decision to start a career in real estate at the end of 2003 after owning a business in Kawerau and Whakatane for many years has seen Michelle win a national and international franchise’s Client Experience Award and consistently rank in the top performers of their region group. She says, “And, after eighteen years in real estate, I’m still thrilled to be doing what I love!” The Bay’s community is an exceptional one, and Michelle helps wherever she can, from Education for Life, Dancing with the Stars, front of house for the Whakatane Theatrical Group, Hospice, Sunshine On a Plate, and supporting local sports teams by supplying shirts as well as schools where possible. Now proudly part of the Property Brokers Whakatane team, Michelle says, “Property Brokers is provincial, and truly has the heart of the small communities at the forefront. It’s a business that lives its values, cares for the community, and gets involved. Just good, passionate people doing what they love to do, and doing it really well.” It’s such a privilege helping families, and first home buyers find a property that ticks the boxes. In real estate, you can plan your day, but that could all change in a matter of minutes; no day is the same. Meeting new people and families, building lasting relationships and creating memorable experiences are all part and parcel of a career in real estate. It’s really special. |
“Nothing beats the Bay! The small-town vibe, relaxed atmosphere and the
community, I’ve lived in the area my entire life and wouldn’t have it any other
way,” says Matt Stephenson.
Around four years ago, Matt received a scholarship to get up and running in real
estate, and he’s never looked back.
When asked what he loves most about real estate, he answers, “I love the stories
most of all. Hearing how someone came to be sitting in front of you and having
the chance to talk to someone about their family home is such an honour;
likewise, hearing about someone’s travels and life experiences is very humbling.”
A passion for the Bay community has seen Matt actively involved in numerous
events. Matt was also a contestant in Dancing for Life Ed and won the people’s
choice award with his dance partner Tammy!
When Matt isn’t busy with real estate; or crunching through numbers and
spreadsheets in his free time, you’ll find him spending quality time with family
or out exploring the beautiful Bay on his bike.
Now proudly part of the Property Brokers Whakatane team, Matt says, “It’s
great being on a team that has a heart for provincial New Zealand; the family
culture and passion permeates through every part of this business.” |
